Dunkirk boys soccer shuts out Panthers

SOUTH DAYTON — The Dunkirk boys soccer team picked up a second-consecutive win on Saturday, rolling past Pine Valley/Gowanda 8-1 in nonleague action.

Naisaih Rodriguez led the Marauders (4-4, 0-3 CCAA West) with two goals and an assist, both Joshua Lemanski and Luis Cruz Jr. scored a pair of goals, Anthony Bautista had two assists, Angel Sanchez and Gregory Orcutt Jr. scored one apiece, and Brandon Gustafson, Justice Thomas-Rivera and Daniel Hoth all had one assist.

Pine Valley/Gowanda falls to 0-9 on the season with the loss.


NORTH COLLINS — North Collins held off an Eden push to secure a 3-1 nonleague win.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the first half when Neven Sheehy finished a Derek Ebersole pass. North Collins struck again in the 52nd minute when Zander Miller finished a Lucas Demmerly assist for the 2-0 lead.

Eden (3-6, 1-5 ECIC D5) got on the board in the 55th minute when Jack Piskun found the back of the net on an assist from Gavin Macauley, but that’s all the Raiders would get.

North Collins (3-3-1, 1-2-1 CCAA Central) tacked on an insurance goal in the 75th minute when Matt Warsaw scored to give Ebersole his second assist of the match.


JAMESTOWN — After giving up an early goal, Jamestown scored early in the second half and then Hubert Mulenda netted the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to get past West Seneca 2-1 in nonleague action.

West Seneca (2-6, 0-5 ECIC D1) opened the scoring in just the fourth minute when Caleb Brese found the back of the net from Ryan Hodge.

The early goal is all that West Seneca could muster, then in the second half Jamestown made its way to the scoresheet. In the 41st minute, the Red Raiders got on the board when Lincoln Carpenter scored with an assist from Noah Rivera.

With very little time remaining, Jamestown (4-5, 2-2 CCAA West) snagged the lead when Mulenda scored an unassisted goal in the 78th minute to win 2-1.


FREDONIA — A pair of Ethyn Gilbert goals led Cassadaga Valley/Falconer past Fredonia 4-1 in nonleague action at SUNY Fredonia.

Cassadaga Valley/Falconer (6-3, 3-1 CCAA East) opened the scoring in the first half in just 30 seconds when Cameron Katilus scored on a Nathan Bailey pass. Then the Golden Cougars just beat the first half buzzer when Gilbert scored his first goal unassisted.

Gilbert scored again in the 43rd minute and in the 55th Clayton Evans scored on a pass from Katilus.

With the loss, Fredonia drops to 3-5 overall.
